Music
I have learnt to play the saxophone and did my A-levels with some pieces. I enjoy the somber and calming tone of it. It was just a matter of time, until I knew I wanted to learn and play the clarinet, which I taught myself and had no formal training in playing the clarinet so is the piano. I did have a couple of years violin lessons, however, it turned out that I wasn’t really cut out for it, but still – when no one is around – I take it out and play some tunes on it. Furthermore, I grabbed my father’s accordion and started to learn to play that in order to – one day – play the Tango Argentino.
For me, playing an instrument is a fundamental part of being just like drawing. It takes you to a realm of pure bliss
Sports
I wouldn’t say that I am the athletic type, but I do love to run. Be it flat or trail. And again, it’s something human beings evolved from. Running is like no other sport, in which you only need a good pair of running shoes and off you go, no need for elaborate equipment, only you and your body.
In winter I love to ski, the freedom you feel on your face when you ski downhill is just so liberating
Learning
In my spare time, if I am not drawing, I love to learn about anything and everything that surrounds us. I never want to be stagnant and be in a rut for one has only one life. My favourite subjects to keep on developing in and learning are:
- Statistics
- Probability
- Combinatorics
- Chemistry
- Meteorology
- Languages
- Architecture
- Art
- Calligraphy
…and many more
